That Doesn’t Happen With Dental Implants

A titanium screw is inserted into the jawbone and over a period of a few weeks, up to perhaps six months, the jawbone grows tightly around the implant so that it cannot move. In effect, the implant becomes a part of the jawbone in the same way that the original tooth root was. Then a crown is fitted to the top of the implant and – lo and behold – you have a tooth which is as good as the original, if not better.
You get back your smile and you can once again eat anything that you wish. Perhaps one of the most important things is that dental implants will restore your self-confidence. Many people who have teeth missing feel that they have to put their hand over their mouth when they laugh, so that they are not embarrassed by showing the gaps. But when you have dental implants there is no more need to do that.
