The Castro is the LGBTQ center of San Francisco, which you can tell instantly by the rainbow banners hanging from the streetlights.

Dental implants may be more expensive in The Castro

It is a vibrant, exciting part of the city with lots and lots of second-hand shops where you can buy almost anything. There are also lots of bars and cafes where people spill out on to the streets, and a visit to the Castro Theater is always worthwhile.

However, if there is one thing about Castro, it is that the rents are very high, and that means that a lot of things are expensive. Among others are dental implants in the Castro. Yes, you can get them there, but they are less expensive at San Francisco Dental Implant Center which is only up the road in the Financial District and is why a lot of Castro residents make an appointment to see us.

When it comes to replacing missing teeth, dental implants are unbeatable. No, they are not “cheap”, but they are less expensive than dental implants in the Castro and are far superior to a bridge or, worse still, dentures.

A bridge can actually work quite well, but it means that you have to have the two teeth on either side of the missing one cut down in order to support it. So you are damaging two perfectly good teeth in order to replace one.

Dentures Can Be Terrible vs. Dental Implants

Dentures can be really terrible. They can work OK to start with but can become loose and slip and slide about when you eat, and even when you laugh at a joke. In fact, it is quite possible for them to fall out of your mouth when you do that. Imagine the embarrassment!

Dental implants are the 21st-century answer to missing teeth because they work in exactly the same way as the original tooth did. The implant itself is a titanium screw that is inserted into the jawbone. The jawbone will grow tightly around the implant over a period of a few weeks in a process of ossification, and then the crown can be placed on top of the implant and you are good to go. Nobody will be able to distinguish the implant crown from the teeth surrounding it.

At the San Francisco Dental Implant Center, we can provide one tooth implant or several. You can even have all your teeth replaced in a single day!

Our doctor is pleased to provide all patients with an initial consult where he can assess your suitability for dental implants in the Castro (don’t worry, most people are suitable) and answer all your questions. Just click on the Consult link at the top of the page.
